1. Shallow Processing- the only encoding of physical qualities of something such as how the word looked rather than what it meant.
2. Schemas- a cognitive framework or concept that helps organize and interpret information.
3. Interference- the explanation for forgetting in long term memory, which states that forgetting occurs because memories interfere with and disrupt one another.
4. Proactive- when you can’t learn a new task because of an old task that has been previously learned.
5. Retroactive- when you forget a previously learned task due to learning a new task.
6. Procedural Memory- storing information on how to perform certain procedures, such as walking, talking, and riding a bike.
7. Declarative Memory- the conscious recollection of experiences, events, and information used in everyday living.
8. Availability Heuristic- relying on information that is easily recalled and overlooked information that is available but less prominent.
9. Hindsight Bias- claiming it is easier after you see the answer. The “oh I knew that” idea.
10. Language Acquisition- humans acquiring the capacity to perceive and comprehend language.
