1. Closure- perceiving forms and figures in their complete appearance despite the absence of one or more of their parts, either hidden or totally absent.
2. Shape Constancy- thinking objects have a consistent shape despite their being different sensory images.
3. Color Constancy- seeing consistent color, even in changing illumination.
4. Size Constancy- using distance-related context clues to help us see objects as the same size.
5. Focal Point- whatever stands out visually will capture and hold the viewer's attention first.
6. Linear Perspective- our perception of distance affects our perception of length although they are the same size.
7. Relative Size- interpreting familiar objects as farther away because they appear smaller.
8. Interposition- an object appearing to block the view of another leads us to assume that the blocked object is in a position relative to the distance.
9. Visual Cliff- using transparent glass to show a fake drop off, experiment was used with babies.
10. Similarity- when things appear to be similar to each other, we group them together and we tend to think they have the same function.
