Brain Page:
1. Motor cortex- The motor cortex generates neutral impulses that control movement 2. Hypothalamus- The hypothalamus regulates emotional responses, hormones, and maintains daily physiological cycles. 3. Thalamus- The thalamus regulates arousal, the level of awareness, and activity. 4. Parietal lobe- The parietal lobe is in charge of sensation, perception, and sensory input mostly with the visual system. 5. Temporal lobe- The temporal lobe is associated with memory skills such as talking, so when it is damaged, it can have dramatic effects on a person’s personality. 6. Brain stem- The brain stem affects our thoughts, feelings, and behavior. 7. Frontal lobe- The frontal lobe is in charge of memory, emotions, etc meaning when it is damaged, it can cause personality changes and impulsivity. 8. Cerebral cortex- If the front part of the cerebral cortex is less active, then people have less control over their social behavior. 9. Medulla- The medulla also controls involuntary reflexes such as swallowing, sneezing, and gagging. 10. Cerebellum- Functions of the cerebellum including emotion regulation, inhibiting impulsive decision making, attention, and working memory |
